Helpful Stories for Kids Who Love to Perform

Hello!

This is your essential resource for grown-ups supporting and guiding their young performer through their very first steps in the professional performing arts.

The industry, whether it's film, theatre, or modelling, brings incredible excitement and fulfilment. It also brings new environments, routines, and expectations. That's why we've created this suite of Social Stories.

Social Stories are a respected, gentle tool that uses clear, supportive language to prepare children for specific social, sensory, and professional situations. There's more about what they are and how to use them HERE.

There is also GUIDANCE ON HOW TO WRITE AN ACCESS RIDER, links to the Parent Handbook which covers almost every aspect of being the parent of a young performer, and links to further information and relevant organisations who might be able to help you further.

Created by Rachel Barnett-Jones, a theatre producer and Mum to a young performer, and supported by Triple A Performer these resources are organised by stage of the production process and categorised according to area of need; whether that's sensory, cognitive or social and emotional.

If you've got any thoughts, feedback or suggestions, please get in touch.
